Part 2

But in the blink of an eye, everything changed!

Barnaby didn’t see a panicked chimpanzee running toward him with a yellow bucket held high in apology.

Instead, he saw Ziggy sprinting through the thick brush with his hands wildly clawing at his own furry back. 🏃‍♂️

But Ziggy didn’t have the bucket; it was completely gone, and a massive swarm of furious jungle bees was trailing right behind him.

The tiny chimpanzee had apparently tried to use the bucket to scoop up a wild honeycomb, completely miscalculating the wrath of the hive.

“Help me, Barnaby!” Ziggy screamed, his eyes wide with absolute terror as he bounded over logs and smashed through ferns.

The brilliant psychological curse Barnaby had completely made up had accidentally transformed into a very real, very painful reality.

Barnaby’s eyes widened in pure shock as the buzzing cloud of angry insects rapidly approached his quiet, peaceful clearing.

His deep philosophical mood vanished instantly, replaced by the ancient, hardwired survival instincts of a giant silverback.

He didn’t hesitate for a single second, forgetting all about his petty grudge and his desire for the shiny object.

Barnaby reached out with one massive, powerful arm and scooped the frantic chimpanzee right out of the air as he flew past.

He tucked Ziggy tightly under his thick arm like a furry football and broke into a full, thundering sprint through the jungle. 🦍💨

The ground literally vibrated under the immense weight of the running giant as he crashed through the dense undergrowth.

Vines snapped like thin threads, and small bushes were entirely flattened beneath his enormous, unstoppable stride.

The bees were relentless, fueled by the loss of their precious honey, and they were gaining ground fast.

Barnaby knew there was only one place deep enough and safe enough to completely shake off a swarm of that magnitude.

He headed straight for the roaring waterfall at the northern edge of the valley, where the deep pools offered total sanctuary.

Ziggy was whimpering loudly, holding onto Barnaby’s thick grey fur for dear life as the wind rushed past them.

“I’m sorry about the bucket!” Ziggy yelled over the deafening roar of the approaching waterfall and the buzzing swarm.

“Just hold your breath!” Barnaby roared back, his voice echoing like thunder over the sound of the crashing water….
