PART 2

But in the blink of an eye, everything changed!

Kevin from Accounting was feeling pretty good about himself.

His “Soft Side of the Jungle” initiative was a resounding success.

He was picturing the virality, the brand partnerships, the engagement metrics.

He was mentally composing his acceptance speech for the “Marketing Genius” award.

Gerty, however, had other ideas.

She was done playing nice.

The cooperating was over.

The tongue retracts, but only so she can let out a low, ominous huff.

That hand isn’t flashing peace anymore. It’s clenching.

The tiny pink bow is starting to feel like a very ridiculous insult.

She looks right at Kevin, who is now nervously tapping his clipboard.

He thinks she’s posing for another angle.

She’s not.

She is calculating the trajectory of her fist to the nearest banana tree… which is unfortunately right where Kevin is standing.

Suddenly, Gerty doesn’t look like a dancing princess.

She looks like… well, a massive, slightly agitated gorilla.

The heart-shaped glasses? Still on. Which somehow makes it more terrifying.

Like, she’s going to dismantle your worldview, but she’s going to do it with love… and incredible force.

The tutu, once comical, is now just a vibrant warning flag.

“Caution: Sparkly rage inside.”

Then, it happens.

She drops her arms, and the peace sign is gone.

The hand that was sassily on her hip is now balling into a fist the size of a honeydew melon.

A small twig snaps somewhere nearby.

The collective breath of everyone in the Primate Pavilion is held.

Gerty lets out another huff, this one louder, almost a growl.

The pink bow slips slightly.
