- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Slice the ripe bananas into thick, even rounds. Toss them with brown sugar and cinnamon until they are fully coated.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients: combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures gently until just mixed; don’t over-mix.
- Layer half of the batter into the prepared baking dish, then add the caramelized bananas on top. Finally, dollop the remaining batter over the bananas.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
- Cool for a few minutes, then serve warm, topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
