How to Make Beef Negimaki Rolls
  1. Begin by trimming the ends of the scallions and cutting them to a length that’s slightly longer than the beef.
  2. Lay out the thinly sliced beef on a clean surface, overlapping slices if needed.
  3. Place a few scallions vertically on one end of the beef and roll tightly.
  4. Lightly coat the rolls with potato starch.
  5. Preheat a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  6. Place the beef rolls seam-side down in the hot pan and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  7. Pour in the sugar, sake, and soy sauce; stir until the glaze thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove the rolls from the pan, slice, and serve over rice.
